Often users want to buy cPanel with a new VPS order, so we will also install cPanel on their VPS for free.

How to install cPanel

  1. Install CentOS on their VPS if this is a new VPS. If they have an existing VPS, tell them that the cPanel installer requires their VPS to be from a clean install.
  2. Log into their console by going to the dom0 and typing xm console xenXX where XX is their VPS number. Ensure the VPS is started first though.
  3. Install perl, bzip2 and rdate by typing yum install perl rdate bzip2
  4. Type cd /home
  5. Type wget -N http://httpupdate.cpanel.net/latest
  6. Type sh latest

Licensing Issues

Marc usually buys licenses from BuyCPanel. If he's not around though, a trial license is automatically generated and the user will have to live with that.
