GigaTux actually owns three other companies:
- Vixile
- The Rock Host and York PA Hosting *soon*
- PositiveVPS
- VirtUK
When it comes to support, if there are many issues and you need to prioritise them, please prioritise GigaTux first, and then the above in that order (VirtUK doesn't count as they are full GigaTux customers now).
The former two were bought in November 2010, with VirtUK bought in early 2010.
Vixile
Management of Vixile will shortly be taken over by the original owner, although it will be technically owned by GigaTux. We will continue to look after all existing customers, with the website being directed to the new manager's own billing installation and setup.
This is a relatively small USA, Xen/OpenVZ company offering fully managed VPSs and shared hosting. As it's fully managed, we should try to help with their setup issues where possible. This is marketed as a quality provider, on par with GigaTux, but with managed VPSs as opposed to unmanaged VPSs. Services here, like with GigaTux, are not oversold (even the OpenVZ packages). All users have been migrated to GigaTux's node01001 server in San Jose.
The Rock Host and York PA Hosting
This deal is in progress.
PositiveVPS
This is a relatively small USA/OpenVZ company (slightly smaller than Vixile), which offers loads and loads of bandwidth (and RAM, and disk space) for a very cheap price. Basically, they oversell, which means they offer more disk and RAM than is actualy available, on the hope that not everyone will try to use it at once. This is the only way this company remains profitable, so we keep on doing this. This makes it very much a low quality provider.
- Billing/support portal (WHMCS)
- Old billing/support portal (HostBill) - for reference only
- Control panel (SolusVM)
- Colocation provider (100TB)
VirtUK
This was a tiny UK/Xen company, bought for a tiny amount near the beginning of 2010. Although the website is still active, we haven't been contacted in reference to VirtUK for many months now. All clients have migrated off onto our own servers.
Both the bililng portal and control panel are the standard GigaTux ones.
