backfw is the firewall that certain GigaTux services are placed behind, primarily the IPMIs for the colocated servers.

The IPMIs can be accessed by using a SSH tunnel to the local IP addresses which are 192.168.1.x. The SSH server is on port 2200.

The best way to do this under Linux is to use ssshuttle. An example command to make the IPMI accessible for node00004 is:

 sshuttle -v -r [email protected]:2200 192.168.1.40

Once this is run, you can use your local web browser to connect to http://192.168.1.40/ and access the IPMI securely.
