DNS servers

VPS hosting

GigaTux provides, for free, access to our three DNS servers for VPS hosting customers. This allows customers to configure their domains using the DTC panel. In order to set this up for a customer, find the customer's DTC account, go to Admin Editor and enter the domain name under Add a domain for this user:. The customer should set up his DNS servers as:

• ns1.gigatux.com (109.169.23.101)
• ns2.gigatux.com (109.169.0.24)
• ns3.gigatux.com (69.64.37.141)

cPanel accounts

GigaTux has bought so many companies in the past that there are many hostnames pointing to the three DNS servers as below:

• ns1.vixile.net (216.66.81.35)
• ns2.vixile.net (109.169.0.92)
• ns3.vixile.net (109.169.23.106)

Customers may be using ns1/2/3.rewindhost.com, ns1/2/3.yorkpahosting.com or a number of different ones. Customers are also welcome to set up their own custom DNS servers by setting up ns1/2/3 entries in the DNS editor and just ensuring they point to the same IP addresses as above.

Custom DNS Hostnames

If a customer is hosting DNS for customerhost.com as ns1/2/3.customerhost.com, ensure that the customer has set up GLUE/Child NS records at the domain registrar for customerhost.com to point to the correct IP addresses. Domain name checks can be reliably performed at intoDNS.
